On March 16th, Free Guitars 4 Kids (FG4K) teamed up with Austin Classical Guitar to hold our first ever event in Texas at the Rosette theater.  The event coincided with South By Southwest Music Festival and was a launch party for FG4K.  

“We are so excited to be expanding our work into Texas! We could not be more thrilled to have a partner like Austin Classical Guitar (ACG) to support with the donation of guitars.” – Ben Dudley, Executive Director, FG4K.

Austin Classical Guitar is a fabulous organization that has expanded to serve in EVERY school in Austin ISD. They have more kids participate in classical guitar than band or orchestra. 

“Our goal for Texas is to hold an event/concert in the fall where we can collect used guitars or money for new guitars so we can make a big impact for the community.”

During the event, Juan, an 18 yr old student performed a beautiful piece for those who attended.  We also heard stories from our Executive Director, Ben Dudley; one of our Austin lead volunteers, Chris Margraves and from Matthew Hinsley, Executive Director of Austin Classical Guitar.
